Camp Fareta (meaning ‘dancing village’) is held each year in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California during July. This year, Mitzi travelled to camp with 11 Australian dancers, and two Japanese. The camp attracts more than 250 dancers from all over the world and features some of the world’s best know dancers and drummers including Youssouf koumbassa, Moustapha Bangoura, Fode Bangoura, Mangue Sylla, Djenemba Sako, Moussa Traore and Aziz Faye.
It is, of course, summer during our winter and an incredible way to escape the Melbourne rain. What an amazing time we had!
