Drum & Dance Party with Bangourake: photos

This event marked the end of term 2 2018. We had a huge night jam-packed with drum and dance, African food, and even some stand-up comedy!

All Melbourne Djembe students performed, as well as a drumming group from Hurstbridge led by Annie Fletcher and accompanied by some inpressive belly dance. Two Ivory Coast artists who normally reside in Adelaide – Jean-marc Agbogba and Abdoul Doumbouya – arrived unexpectedly and jumped up for some solos. The energy went through the roof.

Our main act was drum and dance troupe Wassawumba featuring Mohamed Bangoura (Guinea), Kwame Tosuma and Emmanuel Aryeetey (Ghana).

A huge thank you to the performing students and the volunteers who made it all possible.
