Jerusalema video clip

This dance video has gone absolutely viral – and now people all over the world are creating their own. We thought we would join them!

The song is called Jerusalema by Master KG from South Africa. Here is just one of the clips (my favourite) >>>>>

Who can be in it?

Anyone and everyone. No charge. Just learn the dance and send me your videos.

How will it work?

We will learn the same dance as in the video above. I will teach it in my Thursday Zoom class (11am-12.00) or you can learn it from the tutorial below (scroll down).

I also want to include the element of eating a meal while we dance 😁

During a Zoom meeting on 9th September we will make Bobotie (a traditional Sth African dish). You can then plate it up and make a dance video in your own time to send to me for editing. Dancing with meal is not essential.

When will everything happen?
  • I will teach the dance Thurs Zoom class 11am on 20th and 27th Aug, 3rd Sept
  • Cooking Bobotie together 5.30pm Weds 9th September
  • Videos due anytime within a week after that
What sort of videos, and how do I send it?

The videos you make should be done using best-quality smart phone accessible. Make sure it is in landscape (horizontal) format. I don’t mind where you do it. Feel free to wear your funky sunglasses and ham it up 😉
Even better if you can rope in some family/housemates.

In order of priority…

  1. Doing the dance, preferably holding a plate of food, or with something on your head – a few cycles. Eat if you can, or not. Nb you don’t have to be eating Bobotie – anything is fine!
  2. A few shots of you cooking, or into the oven/saucepan…
  3. A photo of your empty plate(s) in the sink.

You can SEND YOUR VIDEOS to me via WhatsApp: Mitzi 0439334197 or via email/Dropbox:

Last entries Weds 16th Sept.

Where can I see the complete video?

As soon as it’s done I will post on the Melbourne Djembe Fb page. All participants will also be emailed the Youtube link. Make sure you contact Mitzi to register (0439334197 /
