‘Run with the Rhythm’ is an annual fundraiser for vulnerable children in Botswana. The fun run takes participants on a 10km route along the Yarra River. Meanwhile, the runners can move in time to some African drumming!
This year, a bunch of drum students and dundun dancers from Melbourne Djembe came along to support the event. We performed a Djole dundun dance choreography (about 6 times!), played through some of the djembe pieces we have learnt in class during Term 1, and then had a jam and some impromptu dance solos.
Once again, thanks so much to the students. We are spoilt to have a community of such wonderful people around us!
