Our biggest event of the year, Camp Samatou is held 1.5h from Melbourne in November. This year was extra special with three Bangouras from Guinea – Mohamed, Sibo and Seny (all the way from Italy!) We also had Lam Lakiz (Congo), Jean Marc Agbogba (Cote d’Ivoire) and support drummers Odai Affotey and Emmanuel Aryeetey (Ghana).
This year’s camp saw 170 people drumming, dancing, singing, stretching, laughing, crying and being pummelled by a state-of-the-art massage chair. Check out the photos.
